Help us make sure that the funding is supported for our community libraries for years to come.
Information on changes to the library’s funding:
MeL and MelCaT (Michigan eLibrary Catalog) provide services like Interlibrary loans, internet/tech support, databases, test prep, and more. IMLS (Institute of Library and Museum Services) contributed nearly $4.8 million to the Library of Michigan this fiscal year, making IMLS the single largest source of funding. Due to executive order 14238 (Continuing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy) which aims to eliminate IMLS, programs like Mel, MelCaT, and others are in jeopardy.
